Oh man....
Too much of goodies and I am literally expanding sideways...
I can feel it.
. . . . .
I'm back in Ipoh for the Chinese New Year but I'll be leaving tomorrow morning to my mother's side of the family who're in Klang. Yea, I know...
"Why must you go back so fast, Joyce???!!!"
I'm sorry I can't meet up with you all. I really want to see all of you in Ipoh but it's Chinese New Year. And everybody is busy with family. It's a time for family anyway..
I know i have rather neglected my blog lately.
Sorry people.
I just can't find the time right now to sit down, upload pictures and type a nice post.
Gotta make do with this for now...
But I WILL update as soon as I get back to my hostel. *pinkie promise*
The weather has been crazy.
I know I have been complaining about the weather and I will continue doing so since it has been BLAZING HOT one day, then wet, rainy and dreary on another. The temperature outside is It isn't nice.
Not the first time I'm wishing I can control the weather.
I think I'll just grab a cold drink from the fridge now....

Bullet points...
In no particular order...let me ramble:-
一 Nasty flu attack.
I have been reading posts from my friends' blog and I think there is a bug going around. Everyone seems to be suffering from continuous sniffing, watery nose and itchy throats. I woke up on Friday with a very dry throat which I ignored until when I was walking to Pyramid to wait for the bus. It was a sunny morning, I was sweating as the sun happily beamed down on me; and I was sneezing...sneezing very violently. (and making people give me weird stares)
I thought it was the dust from the road getting to me but it became evident that I had the flu when I started emptying the tissue box at my aunt's house over the weekend. (Sorry Yoong, for contaminating the air in your room with bacteria as I blew my nose countless times) It got so bad that my aunt insisted I see a doctor in case it turned into fever. Now, thanks to her, I am on the road to recovery with the prescribed medication from the doctor. ( I K.O.-ed on the bed for 6 hours after taking a dose of my cough mixture.) I partly blame the weather for this. So people, please take care of your health. More so to those who're celebrating Chinese New Year.
二 Speaking of Chinese New Year...
I don't feel very in the mood for it even though it's around the corner. Maybe it's because I'm not in the midst of the preparations at home. Normally, my mum would be getting out all the old (and buying new) decorations out and scaring my brother and me half to death by balancing precariously on the top of the stepladder with fat,red lanterns or other knick-knacks, and asking us," Is it in the middle??Balanced or not??Does it look nice??" and we'll be hastily agreeing and going,"Okay,okay..nice lah!!!For goodness sake come down before the ladder topples!!!"
I gleaned an interesting bit of information (I don't know whether it's true though) from my P3 lecturer today. Did you notice that this year, red clothes are not grossly occupying every surface available in the clothes stores?? If you did, did you wonder why is it so?? Apparently (quoting my lecturer) since this year is the Year of the Ox, it is not auspicious to wear red because when an Ox (or bull??) sees red...(finish this one yourself,it involves being run down.)
Actually it does not make much difference to me because I don't really like red on my clothing. On bags and shoes or other accessories, it's alright; but not on my pants or blouse. No thanks. Honestly, I did not even do any CNY shopping. Perhaps CNY has come a little too fast after I had my fill of Christmas Shopping. Oh well, no harm to my purse. =D
三 My mobile phone took diving lessons.
Bottom line...mobile phones and water DON'T mix!!! I accidentally dropped my mobile phone into a tub of water in my aunt's house bathroom. I was just putting my pants back on and I heard a 'plop!' and I turned around to see my SE Z550i nicely submerged in the tub of water. I freaked out (I love this phone..it contains memories),fished it out and tried to dry it inside out. It went haywire after the dip.I panicked (I have never lost a phone due to carelessness before) and called up my parents (who were quite bemused with my flustered narrative...not what I expected... =.=")
To cut a long story short. I let the phone dry overnight and when the morning came, I assembled it together, and pressed the on button with a prayer.....and it worked!!!As far as I can see..it is none worst for its ducking. *Cheers!!!*
四 My taste buds are pure Ipoh Mali
For someone who grew up with an awesome cook for a mum, a father who enjoys good food,a family who are extremely critical of food (woe betide any restaurant who serve substandard dishes during our reunion dinners) and a hometown which is one of the most renowned places in Malaysia for edibles, I am faring quite reasonably with the not-so-nice (and expensive) food here in PJ. I am talking about the food from the stalls and coffee shops here, not those commercial outlets and cafes.
I have eaten in many places before and I will always say that Ipoh food satisfies me the most. Plus, in Ipoh, you get NICE and CHEAP. Here, more often than not, it's JUST SO-SO and EXPENSIVE. Yea yea, you can debate all you like with me about different costs of living in different locations, rents and whatever, but it wrenches my heart to pay RM3.80 for a plate ofMaggi Goreng telur when you can get a nicer one in Ipoh for a mere RM2.50. I really wonder if the prices they charge here really justifies the costs. Oh well....
五 I'm coming back to Ipoh!!
And I am excited!!!I hope you guys in Ipoh are too...I really miss everyone in Ipoh. Especially my family. My dad actually bought me a train ticket back to Ipoh weeks ago and I'm due to be back on Friday night...but I MIGHT be coming earlier than that if circumstances permit. So cross your fingers!!!!
六 Yawn. . . .
My bed calls. So I end my post on this note. Goodnight everybody!!!

Life in Sunway PJ
I've been virtually ambushed whenever I online and log into msn. A lot of people have been asking me how I am adjusting to life here in Sunway,PJ. So it's partly why I haven't been updating. So sorry. Anyway, to those who've been inquiring after me and been sending me messages. Thanks for your concern. I feel loved.... Seriously.
I'm okay here.I think I am adjusting quite gradually. Thank God my roommate and housemates are nice people, easy to get along with. (really friendly) And Asha, Louisa,Philemon and Soon Ying have been teman-ing me and gave me little insights into life here. Though I really don't like the 'new girl' feeling, it was nice to make new friends in my class (not very easy because no student talks during class..true example of disciplined ACCA students.).
I am being reminded again that;to make friends, you can't always be waiting for the other person to make the first move. If everyone does that, friendship won't exist. So there's nothing wrong with going up to somebody and saying,"Hi."
Due to my atrocious sense of direction, I got lost on the way to class 3 times since classes commenced. How emberassing. But at least I was never late. That's one of the advantages of staying in the hostel right behind college. However, the classes here run for long hours. The shortest period is 3 hours. Imagine if the class is two periods...I nearly died the first time I attended the 7 hour F7 class. I was so SLEEPY when we entered the 5th hour.
We don't get an hour-long lunch break like I did in Sunway Ipoh but our breaks are decided by the lecturer. The longest break we got so far is 20 minutes;where I ran to the toilet, then the cafetaria to grab a sandwich and ran right back up to class and ate while the lecturer continued the class. The stamina of the lecturers and students here are admirable. I hope to be like that someday.
Anyway, let me share some pictures:-
1. More pictures from my cousin, Khai Meng's birthday on New Year's Day.
And I got to meet my hyperactive little cousins after months:
Boys..
=.='
Nice Oriental touch to the decoration;with just the right blend of red for a Chinese New Year theme. Not overly done like some malls who drape gaudy hangings and lanterns and all sorts of red stuff everywhere till you feel like choking and vomiting blood to add to the red.
3. I've been trying out the food in the shops in Pyramid.
At Michealangelo's with Louisa:-
4. Philemon also dragged me to Carl's Jr (which he declares is the best place for burgers) where I ordered a humunguos burger (it was as big as my face and I ended up eating only half and ta pao-ing the other half for next day's lunch ). The fries there are really nice. I also went to Red Box (it's a karaoke lounge which is really nice ) at the invitation of my housemates where we sang karaoke from 3 to 9 p.m. and had a buffet dinner which was served at 6 p.m. All totalling up to only RM30 per person. Damn worth it. Didn't snap any pictures on both those occasions; but just thought of telling. XP
So I guess I'll stop this post here.
It's getting late and my bed is calling...
Goodnight.

I'm back.. :)
Hello...
Happy New Year!!!
How's everyone???
I really miss all of you back there in Ipoh..it feels really strange having to start all over again in a new environment as a new student. Feels awkward...
Anyway,
I FINALLY got my internet connection in my room (after some hassle with a rude staff and later resolved by another nice woman;and running up and down a lot) It has been a long and busy week..
Where do I even start???
It was a quiet New Year's Countdown with my maternal side of the family in Klang. And on New Year's Day, everyone helped me move my stuff and check-in into Sun-U Apartments. That's the name of my hostel. It was fortunate my aunt decided to come along so that we didn't have to make too many trips from the car to my room. You see, my room is on the third floor and you have to climb up 3 flights of stairs to get up there.
The layout of the hostel apartment is like a normal apartment, with a kitchen, living room, two bathrooms (not adjourned to any rooms) and three bedrooms (two twin-sharing and one 4 sharing). So altogether there's 8 of us living together in one unit. It might sound cramped but its not. To me, its just comfortable enough to feel that you're not too crowded. Here's what my room looks like from the door:-
After depositing my stuff there, we left to Sunway Pyramid for some shoppingand to celebrate my cousin, Khai Meng's birthday, he's a New Year's Day baby and he turned 15 this year. It was JAMMED PACKED in Pyramid. Nightmare finding parking. Until my uncle gave up and parked in the Hotel Parking Bay instead. He'd rather pay then crawl in the non-moving queue anymore. I'll update about that in another post. For now I'll just show some random pictures:-
My orientation was not like how I expected it. But it was alright. I got to be awed with the huge hall. Haha!!! I went in early during our lunch break and just sat there alone.
It's a totally different environment here. More. . . . . on the go. I can't really find and exact word to describe. But it's been busy (till sometimes there's no time to eat =.=") and the first few days were hard. Having to deal with homesickness and being alone (my roommate wasn't back from her holiday during the first few days I moved in). Thank goodness I met up with Asha, Louisa and Philemon;else i think I wouldn't have gotten through the week.
I'm going to my aunt;s place for the weekend. Am looking forward to it because the feeling of needing to meet with family. I promise to update when I come back to my room.
Stay with me okay???
:)
