Road BULLY!!!!!

I had a horrible experience on the road today.I've read about road bullies in the newspapers but I never actually expect to meet one because:-
1. This is IPOH. People here love their cars. They don't bang or scratch them on purpose.
2. I only drive from home to college, college to home and occasionally to JJ and other places.
3. The roads I use always have a steady flow of traffic. Road bullies can only do bullying on clear roads.
4. I almost never drive at night. Road bullies are mostly night creatures.

But THEN...
The IDIOT who tried to be FUNNY with me totally did NOT fit my image of a road bully.

He drove a small car.
Come on, I thought the fun of road bullying was driving a monstrous car, scaring smaller cars into submission and laughing at the poor victim, who dares not retaliate because HIS car will come off worst since its the smaller car.

Anyway, the fellow (lets call him Encik Mabuk) drove a Kancil. I noticed it at the traffic light because it was pretty hard to miss. A little car;painted a powder blue, with darkly tinted windows (aren't they illegal??),modified engine, and bright logo stickers on the glass and on the car body itself. And it was with this car,the fellow chose to pick on me,in my Saga.

I have no idea what I did to offend En. Mabuk. I'm going to cut a long story short so that I won't bore those of you whom I've already told the incident to. Basically,it was NOT fun to have En. Mabuk blocking my way on purpose, cutting me at close range and then slowing down to tail-gate me,blaring his horn at intervals and ended the whole disgusting act with a grand finale of driving up next to my car, winding down his window and shouting at me. I couldn't hear him but I could see his lips and expression. If I were a road bully,I would have winded down MY window and treated him to a feast of my choicest swear words...except,I am NOT a road bully and I don't have choice swear words. I was just SCARED.

He would not have even ended it at all if Bavanee had not chosen that time to call me to ask me where I was. Maybe he thought I was calling the police when I lifted my mobile to my ear and talked quite agitatedly. I can't tell you how relieved I was when he finally pulled away from me and headed into a different lane. Hell of a good riddance.

I guess I'm lucky that I suffered no physical damage (human and car-wise). I arrived at college in a pretty shaky composure. I had to explain to a few people what happened because I was rather late.

"I was chased by a road bully"

And here was Talvin and Abel's reaction:

Is the fellow alright??

Good Friday

Good Friday Service in church...
To be honest,I didn't give it much thought until on Wednesday;Abel suddenly messaged me about it asking if I was asking anybody to attend. So I tried asking Stephanie and Christina adnd surprisingly (since so last minute) they agreed to come.

I was in one of those rare moods where I actually felt like dressing up to attend a service. Normally I just try to not look like a homeless person as a sign of respect to appear before the King of kings. And as usual,sms-es started flying back and forth among us girls;deciding what to wear (*hahaha*).

My bro was involved in one of the performances so he had to go early. There was a slight mishap where Abel got L-O-S-T while fetching Christina (and who was assuring me all he needed was the address to find the house...no problem...) Never mind. Everyone reached safely if not on time.

Praise God, the service went smoothly.Took some pictures with my mobile since we were all dressed up so prettily...*hehehehe* Will get more pictures from SzeHaw and post up soon (since she brought a camera)

OH YEA!!!!!!
HAPPY HAPPENINGS this week:

SHOBANA IS BACK!!!!!!
NAUGHTY NAUGHTY GIRL!!!!!!!
MADE US ALL SO SAD CAUSE WE THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING AWAY
AND SUDDENLY WE BUMP INTO HER AT THE STAIRS!!
*I'm glad you're staying though,dear..*

And I got my nice white heels:

Actually I got them last week...but forgot to show them off.*grins*

David Archuleta and Brooke White

OK... I've been a total die hard fan of American Idol ever since I stumbled across the show when Season 3 was showing (Fantasia won that year in case you're not sure which year I'm talking about). I've been trying to follow all the seasons as best as I could since I've got no Astro (sob sob)

I've been so loyal to it till my dad has got caught up with the 'Idol Fever' too. Sometimes,he's the one who reminds me to watch the episodes and makes me sms him the results if he happens to be out during the airing of the episode....

Anyway,I hope to see either of these faces amongst the Idol Hall of Fame.
They've got this really happy aura about them that seriously makes you smile when they appear on stage...*hahaha*

So..David and Brooke

GO GO GO!!!!!!!

Retail Therapy in Penang

Yes...
The shiny, squeaky clean floor tiles of Gurney Plaza and QueensBay Mall has b
een pounded by our feet. We can never get enough of Retail Therapy. Quoting Christina:-

We got style but ain't got no cash
This day trip to Penang was SUPPOSED to be a visit to the British Council. But since the exhibition was in G Hotel RIGHT NEXT TO GURNEY PLAZA....you can guess where we spent most of our time (there was nothing to buy in Gurney damnit!!!!) Only during the last half an hour,Nasiha (a.k.a Nanas / Nasi ...) cam flying towards us and demanded that we (Sze Haw,Christina,Anna and Wei Quing and I ) hurry to the exhibition and do some survey to get free gifts. I know...Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Picture here taken in the RESTROOM where the wallpapering was so NICE. (ha
ha!!)

When you finish the computer-based survey, you get to put your hand in this black box and you grope around...and suddenly!!!A mouthful of sharp teeth clamps around your wrist!!!It takes a death grip on your arm!!!Blood oozes out and you withdraw a bleeding stump from the box;yelling and screaming!!!...OK OK..I'll tell the real story. You take out a small plastic ball with a number and you go to the present counter to collect you gift
according to the number.Nasiha wanted this flask for hot water and she got a backpack instead. Her intention was to make all of us try for a free flask..but we all got backpacks except Sze Haw. And Sze Haw wouldn't exchange with Nasiha. The result was Nasiha screaming and grumbling all the way from Gurney Plaza to QueensBay.Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

If QueensBay was the Queen of Malls...Ipoh JJ is probably the maid who washes the laundry. Due to the fact we had SO LITTLE TIME and SO MANY GORGEOUS THINGS TO SEE..We were basically running from one store to another to try on stuff. First stop was Quicksilver where Sze Haw bought her longed-for flip flops. I helped her choose!!!*wink wink*

Next,Forever 21...where we basically turned the changing room into a circus. Imagine 6 girls popping in and out of the changing rooms..each time in a different outfits a
nd asking each each other if it looks good AT THE SAME TIME. Bought this orange top in the end...Converse came next...I had planned to get a new pair of sneakers from there..but it seems I've no 'jodoh' with Converse. Size 5 is too small for me and size 6 is too loose. What a tragedy. Never mind..not buying Converse = more money to spend on clothes.

I so LOVE F.O.S.!!!got two tops from there at total bargain price.
I think I can't fit the whole excursion in this post and I won't even attempt it. We didn't have enough TIME and were like whirlwinds..running (literally) from shop to shop. My favourite stop was at ALDO there I saw : My OBSESSION...
HEELS!!!!

Didn't buy any though. Even with discount the price was 3 figures and so on...Perfect eye-candy though.3 hours is SO NOT enough to truly soak up the QueensBay shopping.
Anyway...

Some pictures while waiting for the bus to bring us home.
Notice the label on the yellow plastic bags...*hehehe*

Salutes to Wei Quing...our new 'che mui'...

Journey back was pretty fun. Got to know the January CAT students. We seemed to laugh all the way back thanks to some lame-arse jokes (Gerard's fake RM1 note) and some hilarious demonstrations (ask Nasiha). Nasiha has a new nickname = TakSihat. She's gonna kill me if she reads this...

Well,I'm stone BROKE for the rest of the month but its totally WORTH IT!!

Beware at the ATM!!

I received this e-mail from a friend...
It just goes to show that thieves nowadays aren't only petty, handkerchief wearing, cap pulled-down-low on the face nonentities anymore. They are technology-savvy illusionists and they get better and better.
Its time to scrap off that its-not-gonna-happen-to-me-cause-it-only-happens-in-TV mentality.
Be alert at all times.

--------------------------------------

Bank ATM's Converted to Steal IDs of Bank Customers

A team of organized criminals are installing equipment on legitimate bank ATM's in at least 2 regions to steal both the ATM card number and the PIN. The team sits nearby in a car receiving the information transmitted wirelessly over weekends and evenings from equipment they install on the front of the ATM (see photos). If you see an attachment like this, do not use the ATM and report it immediately to the bank using the phone on the front of the ATM.

The equipment used to
capture your ATM card number and PIN are cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. A 'skimmer' is mounted to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transm its it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car.

At the same time, a wireless camera is disguised to look like a leaflet holder and is mounted in a position to view ATM PIN entries.

The thieves copy the cards and use the PIN numbers to withdraw thousands from many accounts in a very short time directly from the bank ATM.

Poker,racism and IDIOTS

I admit.. I'm addicted to poker.Playing not only at the table but also online.

My luck went down recently though...

Its fun playing online because you get to play with people from different countries. HOWEVER..you run into really UGLY characters at the tables. Take today...I was at this table which was mostly made up of Singaporeans. The game was going smoothly when suddenly...a storm cooked up in the players' chat box.

[Luciano Linfa]: hi joyce
[Joyce Wong]: hello

[Leslie Toh]: tats true

[Leslie Toh]: Hi stacy n yy

[Luciano Linfa]: NO THEY KILL US
[Luciano Linfa]: you want a example ???

[Leslie Toh]: but in reality there will always be
[Joyce Wong]: its disgusting
[Joyce Wong]: i've friends frm different races
[Leslie Toh]: we all live in a country with multi races

This 'conversation' left me SPITTING MAD...I honestly don't like racism.I wasn't saying it to appear goody-goody or anything.I DO have friends who're different races and I HATE people who make fun of your name, background or skin colour. Its UNCIVILISED.

If you're racist...its time to change NOW.
Unless..you don't even realise you are.

Take a GOOD LOOK at YOURSELF before you start stamping on other people.

Luncheon with Shobana...

Shobana's leaving us all to make a new home in Kedah. Grand farewell activities had to be cancelled because parents were reluctant to let us out in the midst of election fever. Lunch at Coco's had to suffice (I hope it was OK Shobana...).
Agreed time was 1pm...but somehow Malaysian time seemed to intervene. So cards helped us kill time..AGAIN. Not poker though...'Chor Tai Di' or Big Two.We sat in this special curtained and cushioned area since we were a big group and somehow, all the other tables had their heads turned towards us. I HAD NO IDEA WHY. Maybe it was because we were the only ones not in working suits...
I had Spaghetti Carbonara with cheese and some onion rings (not very nice...)

Getting funny with the onion rings...
Everyone enjoying their food...haha....

I can't help wondering if there was 'something' in the food..

Lastly....
GROUP PICTURES!!!!!!!
My haircut didn't turn out nicely...so I look darn weird...
Hmm...
Never mind..hair clips to the rescue.
Ehem..

SHOBANA WE ARE GONNA MISS YOU!!!!!!!
WHY DID U HAVE TO LEAVE?????!!!!!

Christina's 19th

Miss Tan here has reached the last 'teen' year...
She requested a simple celebration...nothing big and fancy..so Mr Davin took it upon himself to arrange a surprise little get-together.
Just 15 of us at Tea Time Cafe.

I think the plan was to just get Christina to promise to have lunch with a few of us..and sort of bring her into a place with the others all waiting.Nice and easy.

But things didn't go as planned.

Hence commenced a long story...
It started with Anna and Chris going off to Secret Recipe to have lunch.
And ended with two cars and 8 people invading Venga's house to pr
y the birthday girl away from the evil lures of the poker table (Joash and Sue Zhen were there too) and a very EVENTFUL drive to the cafe where there was a near 4 car pile-up thanks to SOMEBODY'S braking skills. (no names mentioned in this part)

Reached Cafe with no physical damage (human and car-wise).I suspect the place had only one chef and one waitress judging by the rate the orders were moving out of the kitchen. Several rounds of cards while waiting for our plates (mine didn't even arrive in the end) and hungover Venga was displaying his inner-child with the cards in his hand (Quote: Yay yay..I have two cards...)

Food gone...group picture:-

Everybody all smiles...
And somebody snapped this totally UNPREPARED picture:-

This was supposed to be a GIRLS ONLY shot!!!:-
Joash,Sue Zhen,Davin,Gerard,Sze Haw and I went to Venga's after that for a round of poker. Thanks to Joash we are all total Hold Em' addicts...Venga's MUM joined us and wiped us clean during the first round...SCARY!!!

Here's a nice shot to illustrate the game:-
Poker is fun...TOO fun.
By the way...I won in the end.
After they restarted a new round and put in money.
Phew...

French Toast

Sorry people... I've been shamefully neglecting my blog.So I'll do my best to fill in what I've been up to recently.

-------------------------------------

I made French toast the previous Sunday.Nothing fancy..just basic ones.
I've got a confession to make..I've been eating French toast since I was like 3 and I only found out last year that it's called French toast..Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I was never good with names though...haha..
Anyway, french toast is easy to make. All you need are eggs, milk, flour, and of course..bread.Normally I eat French toast with butter, jam or even maple syrup;so I don't put sugar into the mixture.

Unless you're a fan of the really crusty type of French toast, two eggs will be sufficient for a medium loaf.Break the eggs into a mixing bowl and beat them.(I wonder how many people actually knows how to beat an egg properly with a fork..)

Add flour and milk to the eggs until you get a consistency you like..

You can even add some vanilla essence to make it smell good...

Next, cut the bread into half. Or if you're really excited...you can try cutting them into shapes like hearts or something. In my case,I like triangles..because I always think toast is triangle in shape.(okok... -___- just randomly telling you stuff I think)

Then, get a non-stick pan (a mighty genius invention) and get it heating on the stove with some oil drizzled in it...Just don't overdo the oil part or you'll have oil spattering everywhere in the nest step...
Dip the pieces of bread in the mixture and put it into the pan.
And *eureka* French toast is served...

Yesh..I know.
My presentation isn't 5-star quality..but it was good..
