I KNOW I KNOW!!!!!!
But my brain is like in rebellion mode...It is the same EVERY sitting. I will stare at my books and wish I can study all the contents through osmosis. Absorb 'em all brain!!!!!
Can someone please motivate me to study???!!!!!!!!!
Teach me how to love IAS-es, embrace investment appraisal, admire ethical decision-making. There's like this frantic mantra buzzing in my head now. Hedging-AAAModel-sharebasedpayments-CSOCI-32,39-CAPM-sustainabilityreporting-I-am-so-dead-and-I-don't-know-if-I-can-make-it!!! ARGHHHH!!!!!!
Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook has some numbing effect of my exam panic. It is converting some of my exam stress. I got my highest highscore ever a few days ago:-
And then the board was wiped clean for a new week's tourney. Blehh...
Okay..back to the grindstone Joyce!!!!
p/s: I seem to have lost my penchant for eating..Have hardly been eating more than once a day.Is it good or bad??

Having no line SUCKS!!
You would have thought since I pay (or rather, my parents pay) RM450 a month for a twin sharing room with no air-con,no washing machine and sharing bathrooms; at least the internet provided would be decent. But NOOOOOOO.....it is slow and actually temperamental! Its slow and only on rare occasions fast. I can put up with slow...but I cannot put up with NO LINE. Its not the first time this has happened. There will suddenly be no line and no explanation for it!!!
Seriously annoying.
I only managed to connect today and I have like lost my mood to update nicely. Grr...
Scratch that. I'm not in a good mood.
A series of unfortunate events happened yesterday. First, my slipper straps broke while I was in the bus and I had to walk barefoot all the way to Padini to get a new pair of footwear. Next, my hostel keys went missing. Missing from my room!!! And no, I have not been careless. I clearly remember coming home with them because I opened the front door AND the room door with them. Plus I have a witness. My roomie clearly remember see-ing me open the door. I have not gone out since and now my keys have gone missing!!!Its a PAIN!!!! I've triple searched everywhere!!!!My room, bed, cupboards, kitchen, bathroom, even the dustbins!!!! Nothing!
I have to go and complain to the management now and I might face a fine for it. My bigger worry is WHO TOOK THE KEYS???? Its a scary thought that someone (only an insider could have done this) has my keys and can anytime use them to access my apartment and room. There is a possibility I left it on the common room table and the cleaner took it. That is the reason why I want to report. Its really S&^*&@#!!!!!!!!!!!
See...I know I am really in a bad mood when I write a ranting post.
God please help me.

Pasta and Potter
Another belated post. Its been a busy week and the line is so slow its loading my pictures like a person having indigestion. But anyway here they are.
I went to Pyramid on Monday to have lunch with Yoong (my cousin) and to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Though we did not really like the previous Harry Potter movies, we just watch for the sake of continuation. I enjoyed the books by J.K. Rowling and was one of those people who get really hyped up whenever a new one was due to be released for sale. 'Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince' and 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' were my two favourite books among the seven so I was quite interested to see how this movie would portray the boy Voldemort. The movie disappointed me...and I didn't even go in with high expectations. I understand that they can't follow the book storyline exactly because it is quite a job to fit a detailed storyline into a 2 hour film, but I am really frustrated with the movie!!!! I was really looking forward to the last part where Dumbledore gets murdered and a fight breaks out, making an action scene.
But nOoo...I sat through 2 hours of a boring jumble of a suddenly horny Harry Potter, a love-sick Ron, a depressed looking Malfoy, an expressionless boy Voldemort..all which I forgave because I thought surely they can never mess up the Dumbledore's dying scene too much. Guess what, the scene was totally anti-climax to the point it was stupid. How could Harry Potter just stand there all quiet and not make a sound when Dumbledore was murdered right before his eyes. He wasn't even bewitched like in the book!!! And the ending came so abruptly that I felt like going back to the counter for a refund. It ended with Snape turning to Harry and mumbling,"I am the Half Blood Prince". WHAT??! He was supposed to lose control and burst out, shouting at Harry and putting curses on him!! It would have taken the same time which they showed him staring at Harry and mumbling!!
Whoever wrote that movie review saying it was a good movie, 'preparing for a big ending' nonsense and rating it a good movie. I'll fire you if I am your boss. But I am not. So I will assume that you're either a boring person with no imagination or you're part of a multinational scheme, misleading people so that they would go spend money on the tickets. Grr...
I ordered the Mini ebi tempura no gomadare pasta to mini unagi rice..Hehe...I took down the names. It actually means mini prawn tempura on spaghetti with mini unagi rice. Keep in mind. It said MINI right??? When the waitress came she put these in front of me :-
Yoong's hand shook when she took this. :(
And the cute pepper and salt containers.
Go try it one day okay???
-------------------------------------------------
And lastly, the Mooncake Festival is coming soon!!!!
I can tell because mooncakes are appearing everywhere for sale!!! And some of them don't look at all like mooncakes...like these cute ones Pui San and I saw the other day:-
I still prefer the traditional ones though.
They remind me of many happy nights when I ran around with my cousins, holding my fish shaped lantern and playing with candles.
I miss them. :)

Use your meter lah!!!
(Unrelated to title)
I blame the hostel line.
For some reason I couldn't access the 'Edit Post' in Blogger even though I tried at different times of the day (another one of the hostel perks...the line is different speed at different times of the day) so here I am now, updating at my aunty's house using her blessed-ly fast wireless.
I am back in Subang in case anyone is wondering. I took the train back and it was totally ridiculous...It took me 3 hours of train ride to get from Ipoh to KL Central and a friggin' TWO AND HALF HOURS to get from KL Central back to Sunway College. Stupid bus. There I was with laptop slung over one shoulder, luggage bag pulling my hand out of its socket and handbag dangling from one shoulder, standing under the tree near the drain waiting for the bus. When it didn't appear after 20 minutes of sweltering, I lugged everything to the front of Carrefour and stood there. There were taxi drivers calling out "Amoi, Amoi..taxi!!!" but when I asked them how much to get back to the hostel I was quoted ridiculous prices. RIDICULOUS mark my words.
Call me stingy or whatever, I do NOT want to be taken advantage of. I was not going to pay RM10 to go back to Sunway when my cousin told me she paid only RM3.40 to take a taxi to Segi College (which is further) from the same place. WHY won't those drivers use their bloody meters??!!!!One even had the cheek to tell me that he normally charges RM15 but will 'generously' give me a 'cheaper' price.
Take that cheating taxi drivers!!!!
Anyway, I can't wait for the durian season to be over.
I know you're all reading this and aiming your piles of durian seeds at me. I hope your aim is bad.Haha!! Anyway, my parents were having durian fiesta at home:-

Is America DEAF???!!!!!

I just watched the results on StarWorld and I CANNOT believe Kris Allen has surpassed Adam Lambert and won the 8th American title!!!!I mean..WHY LAH????!!!!!
Although I have not been watching American Idol faithfully I have remembered Adam Lambert from the audition itself and when I heard Kris Allen was against Adam Lambert in the finals I was like "Kris who???" Don't give me all the rubbish about Kris having more likability, marketability, looks-ability, cute-ability or whatever-bility. Adam has all that and more. I wonder if America was LISTENING to the final performance at all!!!
Hello???Its a SINGING competition, not a beauty pageant!!!You might have think after 8 seasons,8 years of so many talents fighting for their votes they would have at least gained some ear skills????
I'm anticipating a belated lament about this when Adam Lambert is all over the hit songs charts while Kris Allen is just "the 8th American Idol" and nothing more. Remember Chris Daughtry??? I'm sure you do... Remember Taylor Hicks??? Now I've got you...I bet you all remember Katherine McPhee and not him..right???
I've made my point.
--------------------------------------------
And hello to you who have been faithfully checking my blog???
Sorry for a bombastic re-entrance.
The neglect was intentional because I was sure noone is interested in reading about my revision course which consisted of 10 hour classes everyday including weekends. I survived on Red Bull and sandwiches.
The only few highlights are of Pui San dragging me to the Sushi Zanmai Happy Hour twice in a week and on BOTH occasions we won their RM20 vouchers. So thank you to Sushi Zanmai for sponsoring us RM50 (we got an extra RM10 voucher for spending over RM100) on the times we've eaten there.
And O'Briens have openend in Sunway Pyramid. Thank you Louisa for treating me and letting me steal the shamrock off your coffee:-
I am curently back in Ipoh.
Its my STUDY break and its barely two more weeks to exam.
Recurring nightmare again. Oh, for an ACCA-free life.
I have more and more white hairs and a breakout again this sitting. Bah!!!

My dad was in a car accident!!
And THANK THANK THANK GOD he is okay.
My family was down for the weekend to see me and to send my mum,who had a flight to Sabah to catch, to KLIA. It happened around 8:30 this morning. We were staying at my aunt's for the weekend, My dad had got up to send my mum to the airport before I was up so I didn't see him leave the house. He had told us he was going to send my mum alone.
I was in the car with my brother,cousins and aunt, who was driving us to church. We were almost there when my aunt's mobile rang. My aunt stopped the car to answer the call;
"Hello, Tuck Sung (my dad)??.......what??...Accident??!!!. . . . ...."
That last word felt like it was ringing in my ear. For a second there I was totally...I don't know how to describe what I felt. But the next second I calmed down a little, I figured if my dad was calling and talking to my aunt at that moment, he should be okay. Then my next immediate worry; my mum, was set to rest. It had happened while my dad was on the way back from the airport after sending my mum off. I heard my aunt reassuring my dad and saying she would go to him as soon as she could. When she put the phone, she turned to us; my brother and cousins had gone totally silent and you could feel the suspense in the car.
"Your dad is fine. He got banged and his car spun but he hit the divider and stopped. I am going to drop you all at church then going back to get Yee Cheong (my uncle) and go to him."
For a moment I felt like insisting to go along but I didn't want to be in the way, since I guessed there will be a lot of things they need to handle so I just went to church. I had a lot to thank God for. I believe that He has been merciful and protected my dad.
I got the full story from my dad when I went back after church.
My dad had been driving back on the Kesas highway. The highway was empty because it was so early in the morning and my dad was driving slowly, at 90kmph,the minimum speed. He was relaxed because he had plans laid out for the day. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a Myvi came zooming from behind and rammed into the right side of my dad's Kia. The impact of the crash sent my dad's car spinning. My dad held tight to the steering and slammed on the brakes. When he hit the cement divider and came to a halt, he told me he saw the Myvi rolling as if turning cartwheels on the road. Since the Myvi was lighter than the Kia and going so much faster, it had been sent flying from the impact. My dad watched the Myvi turn into a wreck of twisted metal and wondered if the driver would survive.
Miracles do happen.
The driver, a young Malay guy, survived the horrendous crash and crawled out of his broken window. According to my dad,the guy was fine except for a bleeding nose. My dad, on the other hand, had two gashes on his forehead. I was thoroughly shocked when I saw him like that, standing in my aunt's kitchen with two blood crusted lines on his forehead. He later went to a clinic for a check and received two stitches on his forehead. He kept saying he was fine and had no idea how those two gashes happened. I only felt better when my aunt said the doctor had checked him and certified that he was fine.
The Myvi driver had told my dad that he had felt sleepy and lost control of the car. . . . .err.. -.- My dad had estimated him coming at him at about 150-160kmph. Apparently the Myvi was less than 2 months and even though it received such a huge impact and was smashing on the road, the airbags did not even open. It is only fit for scrap metal now. My dad's Kia, from the pictures my dad took with his mobile, is in sorry condition and currently in a workshop; in good hands.
Quoting my dad;
"Cars can be replaced, but not your life. So never mind about the car."
My deducement from this:-
Do NOT do funny stunts on the road; whether you just got your license or are a veteran driver; value your life. Even if you do not and you're in a hurry to die, just DON'T involve someone else. And it CAN happen to you.
To my family, my friends, all my loved ones who are out there on the road:

Rambling when it rains
What is it about the rain today??
Its making me feel like wanting to lie in bed, with my thoughts for company.
Just my thoughts...
This miserable, indecisive weather that shines one moment then turns stormy next.
How can you enjoy the sunshine when you know there are storm clouds gathering??
You can ignore the first raindrop that drips on your shoulder,
But how could you stay oblivious with the downpour that comes eventually??
Perhaps dancing in the rain strikes you as fanciful,
But what about the cold that comes from it??
I'm no fool.
And I refuse to make myself a fool by standing in the rain
when there is shelter to escape to.
I believe that the sun will shine again.
But it does not mean I will get drenched waiting for it.
Its tiring to keep up a facade.
And biting of more than you can chew is inadvisable.
So please, stop it.
I'm getting out of the rain.
Are you??

Twilight
GOODBYE EXAMS!!!!!
And hello to 3 weeks of mindless indulgence.
"THREE weeks??!!" you say???
Well, holidays are precious days to full time ACCA students like me. We have virtually no holidays.I only had about 4 and a half weeks holiday last year and this year is slightly better.about...5 weeks???
Let's not dwell on such mundane details shall we.
I celebrated my first day of freedom with my ever-partner-in-crime cousin,Sze Haw and Chrysie-O. We watched Twilight:

Okay,I'll save the book price ranting for later. Lets talk about the movie.
♥ITS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!♥
I don't remember enjoying a movie based on a book this much. Normally I'm skeptical on book based movies because they tend to really chop up the story lines to fit into the limited film time and the characters and details in the movie don't meet my expectations ;or rather...don't match my imagination. (Haha!!!) But Twilight totally gets a huge double thumbs up for me. The director stuck pretty much to the story line..it had beautiful backgrounds, nice effects...good cast...and Robert Pattinson...♥!!!!!
For those of you who just re-read the name above and went,"Huh???!!!"...Remember Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter whom we were all swooning over??? (Picture below)
(Okay,if you didn't watch Harry Potter...your loss)The female lead character is also very pretty..I wish I had her hair!!!!
Anyway...go watch Twilight. Its definitely worth it.
I have an event at my church called the White Party tomorrow to look forward to. Its a perty where everyone who goes have to dress in white. And Chrys' infectuous excitement has spread to me..driving me to but white eyeliner today. (Chrys!!!!!)
Ahaha...well..Will update again soon. Stay with me!!!!

BUCK UP STREAMYX!!!!!!!
Okay,I try to make it a point not to rant like a maniac in my blog but I am seriously ANNOYED with the connection these days.
Pissed off would be a better word.
What is WRONG with Streamyx???
I have been experiencing seriously SLOW connection for the past few weeks.
Get this,I actually had to wait for 5 minutes for a page to load a page which previously took only a few seconds. My patience has been stretched.
I am not using a dial up.
It says STREAMYX BROADBAND when my parents subscribed to this.
I feel like its heading towards the standard of a normal dial-up.
When a customer pays RM77 a month, they expect better than this.
No sane person pays RM77 per month to sit in front of the computer screen and practice their cursing skills while waiting for the page to load at the speed of a seed growing into a tree.
Or am I just an insane customer??
It takes me AGES to upload photos so that's the reason why I haven't been updating.
Sorry people.
Am I the only person to have been experiencing this??
Please tell me because I am considering making an official complaint.

Stomach ailment week...
NO
MORE
PAPAYAS
FOR
ME!!!!!
I'm officially declaring papayas as a no-no food for me.
Thanks to three small slices of that orange fruit, yours truly has had to deal with the most horrible stomach ailment in her 19 years of life. I meant to update on the recent birthday party I have been to this week but streamyx seems to be rebelling as hard as my stomach. Uploading the pictures is taking forever,so I shall make use of this chance to take center-stage and do a bit of complaining.
In case your nostrils have been blocked, those of you who are currently residing in Malaysia are surely aware that Durian Season is at it's peak. Majority of the country are gorging themselves on the King of Fruits with no sympathy whatsoever for people like me who are not fans of the thorny,strong-smelling,creamy-yellow fruit. Yes, I cannot stand durians. Call me 'un-Malaysian' or whatever; it will not make me love the fruit. The very SMELL of durians. . . . . (I leave the rest to your imagination).
Since I cannot even stomach the smell of durians,my dad cut a papaya he bought from the market for me on Sunday so that I 'get some fruit into my system'. Oh boy;the fruit really 'got into my system'...it turned my whole digestive system upside down. After eating THREE SMALL PIECES of papayas,my stomach started gurgling. I paid no attention to it because I thought the gurgling could be because I was feeling too full after dinner and dessert. However, the gurgling got my full attention a few hours later when I ran to the bathroom and hurled my entire stomach contents into the toilet bowl. Oh yeah...that was just the beginning of a horrible week.
You might have thought, since I had hurled everything out that night; I should have been okay after a good night's rest. That would have been the ideal happy ending for my story but NOOOOOOOO....I woke up feeling really funny in the stomach. Again, I dismissed the funny feeling as hunger and ate as normal for breakfast and lunch. The whole day was normal, apart from a dull ache in the stomach, I was feeling fine until after dinner. I was back in the same position as yesterday...hurling my guts out at the toilet bowl. (=.=')
To cut a long story short..
I repeated the same scenario two days in a row before finally agreeing to be dragged to the doctor's clinic. Apparently,my stomach is full of wind and the food does not go down properly. So it kind of builds up throughout the day when I eat stuff, and the pressure becomes too much when I eat dinner...so *BOOM*...I run to the toilet and 'worship' the toilet bowl. *Lifts eyes and hands to heaven (sorry God,I did not mean to)*
Well,I have been put on a 'soft diet' on the doctor's instuctions (means no rice,no fried stuff,no heavy stuff,no cheesy wedges, nor ice-cream,nor McD...OH NO!!!!!*SOBS*).At least I'm feeling much better than i was a few days ago. This also explains for my disappearance. The bed has more appeal than the computer appeal when you're feeling totally nauseous.
So...that's all for now.
If you have actually bothered to read this post until here..
Thanks a lot for your concern.
XD
God bless you
If not, MAY LIGHTNING STRIKE YOU FOR BEING SO UNCARING!!!!!!
*Just joking...but you won't know I 'cursed' you since you didn't even read till here. *ahaha!!!*

Awakened from my slumber...
OKAY!!!!
Dearest people...
I'm back from my impromptu deserting of my blog...
Was hit with the 'tired-and-don't-give-a-damn' bug (in short...lazy...*ehem*).
On a serious note...I guess I've been too busy adjusting myself to the changes happening around me that I lost my blogging flow; it suddenly seemed so hard to put my doings into words with many things floating around my mind (I hope I'm making sense...). I'm quite a stickler when it comes to my blog posts (come on...who wants to read blog posts which do not make sense???) and gave up on a few lame attempts to type because I did not want to subject you guys to eye-torture.
Anyway, let me give a quick update on what's been happening around me that need my getting use to. Firstly, things have been pretty tense after what happened to my grandma (re:previous post). Thanks to those of you who have been following up with questions about my grandma. Please keep continue to keep her in prayer as she is still in the recovery process.
Secondly,Sze Haw left to KL to continue her studies in KL. She's been gone two weeks already and I freaking miss her. (Hear that Sze Haw??? "I MISS YOU!!!!!!!") I hate goodbye-s of these sort (I bawled my eyes out last year when everyone left). Perhaps some people might scoff and say I'm over-emotional but if you actually LIKE saying 'goodbye' to someone who's been so close to you..go marry your mirror. That's the only thing which actually has a place in your heart.
Thirdly,I'm finding it quite hard to adjust to my new semester classes after a killer exam in the June '08 sitting and the looming results day (which is going to be bad news for me,I'm pretty sure). If my brain had gears, they desperately need oiling. Everything I previously learn in CAT has leaked out of my head. I can't even recall the basics (some accountant I'm gonna be,huh..) and keeping up with new subjects are proving harder than last semester. Darn.
Complaining finished. Lets move on to cheerier things.
I met up with Charis yesterday. I have not seen this girl for AGES (since she left to Moscow to pursue Med studies) and even though she has been back for more than a month, earlier plans of meeting up had to be put off due to various reasons;at one point,i got scared that I would miss meeting up with her. But THANK GOD,I finally got to see her.
Unlike typical outings,we did not 'meet at the mall'. Our 'reunion' was at the entrance to the DBI public swimming pool.
Since Charis had some transport problems and it was more convenient for her to come to my place in the morning,I thought,"Why not make use of the early hour and do something healthy??" and I decided to drag her along on my weekly swim. It was a very funny swim. I had made Christina and Preyah promise to come (but Preyah bailed out last minute and spent the time just sitting and watching. X( ) and I think the three of us made the most noise in the swimming pool.Christina and i tried to persuade Charis to go to the deep end;but we failed'despite our promises that she won't sink and we would save her if she 'drowned'...Charis did not trust us both enough (wise decision on her part???I don't think so).Charis went back with me to my house to shower and get ready to go JJ and we were both exclaiming over our sunburns. My sunblock kept mine to a minimum but Charis swore that she was totally burnt. *haha!!!* We met up with Yin Yep at JJ (We were late..OOPSS!!!!!) and had lunch at Secret Recipe (their RM10 offer is totally worth it..I was so full.
)Christina joined us after her movie and we walked around JJ (I was SO TEMPTED by this G2000 hoodie!!!!!!!Self-control!!!!Self-control!!!!Spending limit reached!!!!) and suddenly I had this mad idea to go to Ipoh Parade and Yin Yep actually went along with it and drove us three girls there (kudos to him..he survived as the only guy..*thanks Yin Yep* XD) We wandered into random shops and finally stopped at Easy House to appease my thirst (I was in hyper mode and randomly announced things I wanted and they all just went along with me...so sweet huh??*haha*) Charis and I ordered the two most interestingly named drinks on the menu.Look:-
I'm not turning this into my blog custom..
but since I've been MIA,I'll just so random pictures to fill up the missing chunks.
First time I ever saw such a clear rainbow and captured it on my mobile.
I went for another of my 'once-in-a-blue-moon' haircuts.Only, this time I just asked the guy to 'tidy-up' my hair.
*screams of terror*
(the name she gave me..I don't know if he's still Maxie)
Exactly like my toy doggie...
I know you're going, "awwwwWWWW!!!!"
DARN!!!!!
Well people, this has been a long post...
I promise to be more consistent from now on.
Update soon..

Lot Snatchers!!!!!!!
NEVER GO TO JJ WHEN IT IS A WEEKEND
AND
A PUBLIC HOLIDAY!!!!!!
Inching my way through rows and rows of shiny vehicles, the sun reflecting of the metal surfaces into my eyes;I had to carefully maneuver my orange Saga pass several cars which were obviously properties of irresponsible people who were too impatient to wait for a proper parking lot to be vacated and just 'conveniently' parked in any space that was big enough to fit, regardless of the fact that it narrowed the two-lane road into a tiny little alleyway flanked by cars. It did not help that there were like 50 other drivers hunting for a parking place.
I would like to thank my driving instructor for his good coaching during my driving lessons. If he could have seen me handle the slopes while on the way to the roof-top parking...he would have been so proud of me. Note: my car is a MANUAL. My calf muscles were throbbing by the time I reached the roof-top, the repeated pressing on the clutch making itself known to my unfit leg. And *oh wow!!!!* I spotted a car just about to leave its place. I waited patiently for the car to drive off and was just releasing the hand-brake when,SUDDENLY...a blue car materialized in that, only seconds before, newly vacated lot.
Inconsiderate Mr Lot-Snatcher had totally ignored the fact I had taken 40 minutes to come upon this lot and nicely zoomed his blue Satria pass me and neatly parked in there. Boiling with suppressed rage and with the heat of the afternoon sun getting to me,I blared my horn and was in the process of shaking my fist and winding down the window when the fellow quickly jumped out, locked his car and ran towards the lifts. He was gone before I had shouted more than, "OII!!!!!!!!!" Of all the NERVE!!!!!
Left with no choice but to move on (there was a long line waiting behind me) I rounded the area for another 10 minutes before I spotted another vacant lot. I was just turning in when an old Toyota opposite turned in the same direction I was turning. Do I have *"Go on,steal my parking space!"* pasted somewhere on my car??? This was too much!!!!!!! I don't give a DAMN if Mr Lot-Snatcher wannabe was trying to impress the guy sitting next to him or the two girls in the passenger seat in the same car with him. Getting bullied TWICE in the span of 20 minutes is TOO MUCH!!
I revved up my engine and brought the car lurching towards the Toyota and stopped just short of crashing into his beaten up front. Leaning forward over my steering wheel and lifting up my shades to GLARE at the idiot behind the other car's wheel,I prepared to further defend this parking space. I was NOT going down without a fight. Mr Lot-Snatcher wannabe looked really stunned and I saw the two girls at the back pulling his sleeve and saying something to him. After a few seconds,he stared at me briefly before reversing and driving away;leaving me to the vacant parking lot which was rightfully mine to park in.
I was fuming all the way from the roof-top to Coffee-Bean. Just my luck to get preyed on by such donkeys. *GRRRRRR....* These people need a reminder on road ethics. Or maybe just a tight slap. (Oops...that just slipped out)
I realise that my actions of defiance could have lead to bad consequences. I don't plan to do repeat them. However, let me remind all you drivers that it is NOT cool to steal parking lots. If you think its funny, wait till somebody tries it on you and then laugh to your heart's content. Also, if you are victims of lot snatchers, don't meekly accept your fate each time. Size up the idiot behind the wheel and exercise your right. Letting it be will just encourage more behaviour of this kind.
Good Luck.

Road BULLY!!!!!
I had a horrible experience on the road today.
I've read about road bullies in the newspapers but I never actually expect to meet one because:-
1. This is IPOH. People here love their cars. They don't bang or scratch them on purpose.
2. I only drive from home to college, college to home and occasionally to JJ and other places.
3. The roads I use always have a steady flow of traffic. Road bullies can only do bullying on clear roads.
4. I almost never drive at night. Road bullies are mostly night creatures.
But THEN...
The IDIOT who tried to be FUNNY with me totally did NOT fit my image of a road bully.
He drove a small car.
Come on, I thought the fun of road bullying was driving a monstrous car, scaring smaller cars into submission and laughing at the poor victim, who dares not retaliate because HIS car will come off worst since its the smaller car.
Anyway, the fellow (lets call him Encik Mabuk) drove a Kancil. I noticed it at the traffic light because it was pretty hard to miss. A little car;painted a powder blue, with darkly tinted windows (aren't they illegal??),modified engine, and bright logo stickers on the glass and on the car body itself. And it was with this car,the fellow chose to pick on me,in my Saga.
I have no idea what I did to offend En. Mabuk. I'm going to cut a long story short so that I won't bore those of you whom I've already told the incident to. Basically,it was NOT fun to have En. Mabuk blocking my way on purpose, cutting me at close range and then slowing down to tail-gate me,blaring his horn at intervals and ended the whole disgusting act with a grand finale of driving up next to my car, winding down his window and shouting at me. I couldn't hear him but I could see his lips and expression. If I were a road bully,I would have winded down MY window and treated him to a feast of my choicest swear words...except,I am NOT a road bully and I don't have choice swear words. I was just SCARED.
He would not have even ended it at all if Bavanee had not chosen that time to call me to ask me where I was. Maybe he thought I was calling the police when I lifted my mobile to my ear and talked quite agitatedly. I can't tell you how relieved I was when he finally pulled away from me and headed into a different lane. Hell of a good riddance.
I guess I'm lucky that I suffered no physical damage (human and car-wise). I arrived at college in a pretty shaky composure. I had to explain to a few people what happened because I was rather late.
"I was chased by a road bully"
And here was Talvin and Abel's reaction:

Beware at the ATM!!
I received this e-mail from a friend...
It just goes to show that thieves nowadays aren't only petty, handkerchief wearing, cap pulled-down-low on the face nonentities anymore. They are technology-savvy illusionists and they get better and better.
Its time to scrap off that its-not-gonna-happen-to-me-cause-it-only-happens-in-TV mentality.
Be alert at all times.
Bank ATM's Converted to Steal IDs of Bank Customers

The equipment used to capture your ATM card number and PIN are cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. A 'skimmer' is mounted to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transm its it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car.
At the same time, a wireless camera is disguised to look like a leaflet holder and is mounted in a position to view ATM PIN entries.

The thieves copy the cards and use the PIN numbers to withdraw thousands from many accounts in a very short time directly from the bank ATM.

Poker,racism and IDIOTS
I admit.. I'm addicted to poker.Playing not only at the table but also online.
Its fun playing online because you get to play with people from different countries. HOWEVER..you run into really UGLY characters at the tables. Take today...I was at this table which was mostly made up of Singaporeans. The game was going smoothly when suddenly...a storm cooked up in the players' chat box.
[Luciano Linfa]: hi joyce

[Joyce Wong]: its disgusting
[Joyce Wong]: i've friends frm different races
[Leslie Toh]: we all live in a country with multi races
This 'conversation' left me SPITTING MAD...I honestly don't like racism.I wasn't saying it to appear goody-goody or anything.I DO have friends who're different races and I HATE people who make fun of your name, background or skin colour. Its UNCIVILISED.
If you're racist...its time to change NOW.
Unless..you don't even realise you are.
Take a GOOD LOOK at YOURSELF before you start stamping on other people.

Cable-less week...AGAIN!!
OK..
If you look in the January archives of my blog posts..you'll see one that goes !@#$$% Cable Thieves!!! . History has repeated itself.
You've probably read in newspapers about people who steal the cables (those metal 'strings' that hang from post to post) and sell them to metal scrap companies because of the rising price of metal. It happened to me and my whole neighbour-hood.
Being cut off from the world (internet service) was NOT fun..
So to all you NO-GOOD,F***KING CABLE THIEVES...
I wish you luck on your next excursion because Zeus himself is going to smile on you and send one of his lightning bolts (and perhaps two or three or four...) to remind you of his presence. Don't forget it's rainy this week. Also,Demeter(Mother Earth) herself might trigger a friendly earthquake to say hello. Not very advisable to be balancing on a rusty, long ladder and holding active lines while the Greek Gods are smiling on you.
Anyway, classes started this week. Its been pretty hectic and we all had our Pengajian Malaysia test. This is how I looked like during the different stages of the test:-

AFTER:

Its already going to be the third month of the year. And my classmate, Shobana is going to leave us because her family is moving away. *sob sob* I've got to come up with a few ideas for a farewell party for her over the weekend...Any ideas??? I'm not the most exciting person when it comes to parties..*SIGH*
